Double Impact
SerIbsen
, May 2, 12 12:51 PM.
The last week of April has marked another milestone for our guild. After months of battle we have forged not one, but two sets of the Legendary daggers- The Fangs of the Father! Huge congratulations go out to
Seething
and
Rogueone
for achieving this feat, as it required quite a bit of dedication. As well, we owe our Tuesday and Thursday raid teams a debt of gratitude for supporting our rogues week in and week out. The Dragonsoul has been a huge success for us, especially considering a year ago we were still trying to find our footing in Cataclysm. Now, 12 months later Deathwing is on deep farm, and we have two sets of Legendary daggers as the cherries on top.
In other Dragonsoul news, our Tuesday night crew marked a big win last night taking down the heroic version of Yor’sahj! It was a massive effort in patience and skill to kill the bastard, and our hats go off to
the crew
. I’m sure heroic Zon’ozz didn’t get much sleep last night.

“Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."

J. Robert Oppenheimer
There's an odd sort of peace that comes at the end. Really when you think about it there is much less to worry about at that ultimate of ultimates. In our day-to-day lives there's the rent or mortgage payments, work related stresses, family, and a dazzling array of other anxieties. When it comes down to the final moments of all things there is but one problem left, and since there is nothing to be done about it, why stress? Unless of course you are the Iron Circle, a force so mighty as to be able to stem the roaring tide of apocalypse using only naked steel and searing magicks. And so it is that we now find ourselves here on the other side of doom, and yeah, it would appear we're still alive so I guess we won. Friday night we engaged the biggest meanest dragon ever- the Aspect of Earth, the Destroyer himself, Big Nelth, Onyxia's daddy- aka Deathwing. Time and time again we set our will against his goal of a final undoing, but as has become our tradition we waited until Uncle Chair planted his banner and declared "last attempt" to finish the job. Thanks for having the patience to wipe over and over and over again with grace, as well as the mental engagement to adjust our method until finding one that worked. It was our last chance to get in a pre-nerf Deathwing kill, and by Lothar's chunchy beard we pulled it off! Time to go roll pandas and snuggle the rest of our days away!

For most people the holiday season is a time of reflection and merriment, but for The Iron Circle it is a time for blood thirsty fever dreams and a soul-nagging longing for vengeance. Such did Warmaster Blackhorn discover much to his fatal chagrin this past Saturday. After seven long years of battling back the corruption of the Twilight's Hammer, from Darkshore to Twilight Highlands, the last vestiges of their once formable army now sink beneath the open sea. Thanks to the mastery of Sheepdog and Kristoph's heals, and a mysterious blond Italian stowaway named Jerinó we were able to best the intense encounter. Thanks for hanging in there and not letting up when things got crazy. Now all we have to do is hop on a dragon's back, ride it down into the heart of the Maelstrom, and defeat the most powerful entity to roam Azeroth in mortal combat.
Chasing The Dragon

On Saturday we jumped to 5/8 in Dragon Soul progression with two very crisply executed guild firsts. Hagara proved to be rather simple while the twilight monstrosity known as Ultraxion was a bit of a nailbiter. In the end we pushed our early-patch gear to its limit, managing to beat the enrage by a small margin. Avos pulling close to 32k dps helped a little too. Please check out our
Dragon Soul forum
for post game discussion, and thanks for a the great effort. We'll have Deathwing in our sights very soon and then it's next stop Pandalandaria!
The Iron Circle Turns 7!

Seven years ago a small group of adventurers seated in a dark corner of The Lion's Pride Inn launched one of Kil'jaeden's charter guilds. Though we knew that many adventures awaited us on the unexplored frontiers of Azeroth, none had the faintest idea about the kind of resilience The Iron Circle would have. At the time were were embroiled in the conflict between the bandit Van Cleef and the kingless city of Stormwind. In the years that would follow we would kill demons, smite wyrms, banish gods, endure bitter wars, ride on the backs of dragons, and even slay an undead king. The guild we minted on that December 8th of 2004 would come to be home to countless heroes, jesters, and poets.
To our recently tagged members we offer our gratitude for choosing to be part of our family. We don't take admission to this guild lightly, and by the same token we really appreciate the interest of people who are willing to lend their efforts to our collective cause. To the vets we thank you for your dedication in molding this organization into the kind of guild that can stand the test of time. More than scoring server firsts or having the biggest roster, enduring for seven active years is a particularly rare feat for an MMO guild. It speaks to a core strength that derives vitality not from a shared interest in drops and quantifiable progression, but from an environment of mutual respect and comradery. Thank you for your time, and for all you do to make this guild a great way to play WoW. :)

Story of The Dragon and The Druid
SerIbsen
, Sep 25, 11 2:25 PM.
Once upon a time there was a Green Dragon named Alysra. She liked to fly this way and that. One day her friend Fandral the druid came by very upset and immolated. He was so mad that he slew her and turned her into a bird that was on fire, before he gave her some magic treasures which we want. So we went and got some of them. Then we killed the firehippy and took his treasures too, before we started on a little deicide project with Ragnaros. All in a week's work. That's 6/7 ladies and gents! Is it just me or is it getting hot up in this?
Baleroc & Lord Rhyolith Undone
SerIbsen
, Aug 21, 11 4:13 AM.
Since about 2006 I thought we were even with Ragnaros. He blew up Redridge Mountains, and we mercilessly farmed him for months and months to the point of tedium. Fair deal, considering all the epics he provided us with probably amounted to a bigger internal scandal for him than Iran/Contra to the 10th power. Well as many of you have heard, he wasn't too satisfied with our relationship, and decided to go ahead and immolate the Yosemite of Azeroth to get even. As if those druids didn't already fare bad enough throughout this whole Cataclysm thing. Well, on Saturday we went right into Rag's office and killed his receptionist in quick order. Still pretty pissed after sorting out the Rubix Cube that was the Baleroc, we went and spanked his old slow mailroom clerk, Lord Rhyolith like as if we were farming him for 'mog gear. This elevates our Firelands progression to 4/7, and amounts to a massive human resources challenge to Rag. Thanks for a fantastic and disciplined raid, ladies and gents. Everyone delivered 110% on Saturday, and from what we saw of Alysrazor it seems like we're going to have to keep this momentum rolling. Keep up the good work. It only gets harder from here, and getting here hasn't exactly been a walk in the park.
Weaving Spiders Come Not Here
SerIbsen

When it comes to phobias spiders have to rank pretty high. They are ugly, they have millions of little venomous babies, they have nasty thick webs in which they bind their prey to slowly be drained of vital force. Now take all that and combine it with the thrill of dying in a fire and you have Beth'tilac. Well, you used to have Beth'tilac anyway. Thursday night we returned to the infernal dimension of Ragnaros the Firelord. We threw the full force of our might against this asbestic arachnid time and time again, until charred and battered, we decided to give her one more shot with a slight strategic adjustment. Wouldn't you know it, within 10 minutes we found ourselves stocked with spider meat for the next year. Huge props to the team who endured wipe after wipe while we sorted out the details of this encounter. The final attempt was perfect execution on everybody's part, especially Arezzo, who's grim axes managed to hew off a full 25% of the spider's health to set us up with a hard fought win. Good work.
Triple Play

Last night we returned from a month long vacation and took another look at the Cataclysm 4.0 end-bosses. We figured we might have a chance of downing one or two of them. Who would have thought that within 2 hours of swigging down our flasks we'd have our guild "Defenders of a Shattered World" title. Granted the nerf a couple of weeks ago brought the volatility of the numbers down a bit on these bosses, tackling three guild firsts in short order was a good testament our ability to master unforgiving mechanics on the fly. It also felt really good to finally put a fork in Cho'gall. Huge props to Biruni, who solo'd Al'Akir from 3% to death to clinch our titles before Avos had to go see Harry Potter. Onward to Firelands!
I Dream of Djinni
SerIbsen
, Jun 8, 11 11:52 AM.
Last Saturday an elite group of Iron Cirlce warders ascended into the clouds high above the burning desert sands. There on the marble pavilions of the heavens they engaged in a dramatic battle of magic and enchanted steel against the djinni vanguard of the Wind Lord, Al'Akir. The clash stretched them to the limits of their courage, but just when all seemed lost, the djinni relented and were undone. Great work picking up this fight so fast, and a special thanks goes out to Jeri who came in and healed so artfully to help us establish yet another guild first. It was a sweet win to cap a hard fought Saturday.
The Saddest Dragon

Your heart has to go out to Artremedes, even more so than the millions of other whelps we have AE'd into oblivion over the years. He was made blind by Maloriak's chemical burns, and mocked as a baby by Victor Nefarian. Then he was forced to be in a room full of books even though he's blind, and had to guard the very same dicks who made him blind in the first place. It's really no wonder why he grew up into such a one-shotting tempest of fiery destruction. Thanks to our stalwart warders, it is all over now. Blind Artremedes has been put to rest, and I'm sure he died somewhat consoled by the fact that our next acts will avenge his miserable existence. Thanks for a great Saturday night raid comrades. We've managed a guild-first kill every week of April and are now at 8/12 in progression. Yatta.
